The bay offers a number of varied dives to suit everyone. From a circling dive of the the jutting tongue of land through the arch to a gentle meander across the bay’s wide sandbed at an average depth of 22 metres. No matter what path you follow you will find the bay rich in wildlife.
It is one of the few places you can almost guarantee sighting rays (electric, eagle and stingrays) gliding across the sand.
The bay can only be accessed by boat and depending where it anchors you can choose your dive.
Using an anchorage close to the ‘arch’ on the edge of the weed growth and the sand bed you can choose either to navigate around the tongue of land, either clockwise or counterclockwise, or head out across the wide sand bed to look for rays or Flying Gurnards.
Alternatively you can anchor in the far North West Corner of the Bay in a canyon. You can then swim southerly over a small reef at 4 metres and then drop to the sand bed of Pont d’en Gil at about 17/18 metres. This dive can be used for navigation training by heading back towards the reef then turning to the left and following the reef into the canyon and then following the canyon to the anchor.
