This secluded and sheltered bay on Menorca’s North coast is an interesting dive and due to its location is often used out of season when winds and tides make it difficult to access some of the southerly bays. During the summer season the bay is full of moored boats but out of season is completely empty.
The sea bed has is littered with many abandoned engine blocks that have become home to an abundance of octopus and cuttlefish.
The depth ranges from 3 metres dropping to 18 metres as you head out of the bay.
If you follow the steep left hand wall as you head out you will find a small cavern tucked away whose sandy bed is covered in sand dollars. Continuing on you will find a towering overhang that is encrusted with colourful sponges and coral. Great for close up photos.
This site is also great for practicing compass navigation using the mooring buoys on the right hand side of the bay as ‘waypoints’.
Be prepared for the long trek up and down the steps in full kit as parking terminates on the cliff road above the bay.
